This morning everyone was up and ready for the day by 8:30 am. Little Mckenzie had a weight check appointment with Dr. Tramp and Uncle's had some things that they needed to get done for the day, but it was going to be a family day! Mommy and Grandma got Mckenzie dressed in a new little outfit and bundled in his car seat, then Grandma, Jessica, Mark and Mckenzie all headed to the doctors office. Mommy checked Mckenzie in for the first time and the office ladies got their first glimpse of the new little man! It wasn't long and he was called back to the back. Nurse Kari Kanel got the scale ready and placed little Mckenzie on. He was crying of course and cold being naked and all, but was quickly done and back in mommy's arms to warm up. He weighed in at 6 lbs 5 ozs, which he had lost another 5 ozs since discharge the day before. Little Mckenzie was also a little jaundice but it was a little expected since he hadn't had a BM yet and he has a cephalohematoma to the left side of his little head from the delivery, and that can cause some jaundice to occur. Dr. Tramp ordered his first labs of a blood typing, PKU, and a bilirubin. He would then have vitals done by the nurse in ER, just as a checkup. We arrived at the hospital and got checked in for lab. When they called us over, mommy decided that she couldn't hold little Mckenzie if he was going to cry so grandma Romines held him while the lab tech January obtained blood for the tests. It was hard because they had to get their blood from his little heels, but he did very well and didn't fuss to much. Afterwards, we went to the ER and Nurse Cheri Key checked his heart rate and O2 sats which little Mckenzie was sats were at 98%-99% on RA. He was doing great!!
